Successful CulturalPolis’ Cultural Event on 31 July ’17 in Andros

The cultural event, organized by CulturePolis in Andros, about “The Role of the Artist in Today’s Society” was successfully held, in the framework of the European project “Citizen Artist Incubator“. We warmly thank the speakers and the limited but informed local audience who honored us with their presence as well as Mrs. Lena Politou, Executive Director of the Municipality of Andros, but for her we would not have been able to organize the event in Andros. Special thanks  to Mr. Spanos from the Office of Creative Europe – Ministry of  Culture, who  honored us with his presence in Andros, as well as in Corfu. Mr. Spanos  informed public and cultural institutions about the program and the possibilities for their exploitation by cultural associations and artists.
The audience had the opportunity to be informed by CulturePolis about the final results of this pioneering project, which ends on 31/08/2017 with CulturePolis as the  lead partner. We would like to thank renowned artist such as Ms.  Georgia, who presented her work , an attempt to collect stories from the silent or  not Kea’s is heroes. Special mention should be made to upcoming artists who took part in camps in Austria. Specifically, Christina Kyriazidis,  presented through video, the innovative idea “Stories for food” from the 1st camp in Vienna and Lito Skopeliti, who shared with the audience her experiences from her participation in the 2nd camp in Linz from 22-28 / 07/2017. Lito actually presented the text created by the artists in Linz : “Proposal for a Manifesto of Artists – Citizens” with their concerns as citizen artists and their desire for continuation of the program and its dissemination to the public.

CulturePolis is committed to exploiting the results of the project and the ideas / suggestions of the Artists – Citizens for new European / international initiatives and projects. It invites all interested artists and actors to give their thoughts of greater interaction between artists and society.
