Objective – Deliverables Promoting the role of technology in cultural tourism. Boost the tourism potential of peripheral destinations, acquire new knowledge, capitalize on best practices from the international experience to create and launch a locally produced and globally distributed high quality experienced based product in heritage tourism

The goal is for the final product, i.e. the EUROTHENTICA trilogy, to be completed by the partners and presented in the ITB Berlin conference (08-12 March 2017) .

Summary of main actions and projects (2011 – 2006)

Title Achieving sustainability through an integrated approach to management of cultural heritage
Goals The main objective is to improve efficiency in the management of our cultural heritage in South-Eastern Europe – particularly of monuments registered in the UNESCO’s World Heritage list, through the development, testing and dissemination of a holistic approach capable to exploit the complexity of cultural heritage of the area.

SUSTCULT is set to produce some interesting results, which can – if properly exploited – substantially help Corfu in achieving sustainable cultural development. Some of the main results are listed below:

Comments Fully achieved the goal of Intercultural Dialogue Festival, which was to promote creativity in an intercultural and interreligious dialogue between locals and Muslims. This stems not only from the massive participation of students, Corfu  youth in general and Corfu citizens with Arab roots, but also from the unanimous support of the idea to make the Arab World Festival permanently based on Corfu with the active involvement of Ambassadors of Arab countries to Greece.

Deliverables Corfu Register of Cultural Organisations (147 institutions) Web Portal of Corfu Cultural Associations


A cooperation and networking platform for cultural institutions, with a view to promote cooperation among them, can host web pages and display the associated organizations – members of CulturePolis or not, local cultural associations and other entities in a new website that will be accessible to all. A platform to present – promote cultural associations and institutions – mainly small NGOs that do not always have the ability of an autonomous online presence. Utilization of existing sites, cultural collections and archives to be constantly enriched by the presence of new cultural index groups and a “guide” of cultural and related events in the region and, finally, dialogue and discussion forum on culture – in the broadest sense, including sustainable development, responsible tourism, innovative applications of new technologies, etc. CulturePolis aspires for this portal, whose creation began in 2008 in Corfu, to soon host institutions from all Adriatic and Ionian countries, the Balkans and Southeastern europe.

Coordinator CP – Preveza Cultural Antenna
Objective – Deliverables The project ‘Man Art Environment” is an initiative of the Preveza Cultural Antenna Youth Group involving teams of volunteers from the four municipalities of Preveza, designed to motivate local communities in relation to recycling, intercultural dialogue, respect for the Other, human creation, the relationship between humans and their natural environment. The Youth Group of the Preveza Cultural Antenna recognizing current needs, especially in the region and prioritizing the dissemination of information related to the environment and intercultural dialogue, in order to sensitize a majority of citizens, especially young people wishing to organize the proposed project ‘Anthropos Art Environment “. Young people with special needs have been invited and will participate as members of the group of volunteers. The group will participate in the full range of creative and organizational process of following, including evaluation, in cooperation with experts trainers:

· Art exhibition “I am an artist – I respect nature!” with the creations of participants from recyclable materials and creative intervention in the urban or non-landscape, the result of the visual laboratory “I am an artist – I respect nature!”

· The dance performance “Intellect of the Body and the Environment”, the result of contemporary dance workshops.

The implementation of the theatrical performance ‘Fortune Cookie’ of the Playfull group

· Open Dialogue Forum on Environment and Intercultural Dialogue, with the young people themselves acting as coordinators and a video documentary and audiovisual material on ecological issues
